Privacy Policy

Who we are
AgriHire Australia (“AgriHire”, “we”, “us”) operates the agrihire.com.au platform that connects Australian farm employers with agricultural workers. We are a data controller under Australian privacy law.
What we collect
- Identity data: name, email, phone, date of birth, profile photo.
- Work-eligibility data: visa type/subclass, VEVO-report uploads, residency status.
- Employment data: skills, experience, certifications, work history.
- Background self-declaration (sensitive information, APP 3.3): four yes/no answers plus any short disclosures the worker chooses to add. This is a worker-provided declaration, not an official Police Check — AgriHire does not request, store or verify AFP National Police Check certificates. Collection requires your explicit consent via the acknowledgment checkbox.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.
- Usage data: pages visited, device type, IP address, cookies.
- Location data: suburb/postcode (coarse) or GPS (only when you explicitly allow it).
How we use your data
- Match workers to farm jobs and employers to candidates.
- Verify visa eligibility and compliance with Australian work laws.
- Process payments and issue receipts.
- Send transactional notifications (new applicants, job matches).
- Improve the platform and detect fraud.
Who we share with
Your public profile is visible to registered employers / workers on the platform. Contact details are only revealed after a paid unlock by an employer. Background self-declarations are never public — they are only released to an employer once they shortlist you (application status shortlisted, interview, offered, hired or completed), and they auto-expire after 12 months. Employers are reminded in-product to weigh declared information only insofar as it is relevant to the specific role, consistent with Australian anti-discrimination law.
We use the following processors under written contract:
- Supabase (database hosting — EU/US regions)
- Stripe (payments — PCI-DSS certified)
- Twilio (SMS OTP)
- Resend (transactional email)
- Netlify / Vercel (web hosting)
Your rights
- Access and export your data at any time from your account settings.
- Correct inaccurate information yourself, or request us to do so.
- Delete your account — we will purge personal data within 30 days, retaining only what the law requires (e.g. tax records).
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is protected by Row Level Security policies on our database. Payment data never touches our servers.
Cookies
We use essential cookies (session, CSRF) and anonymous analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work.
Retention
Active account data is kept while your account is open. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days. Financial records are kept for 7 years as required by the Australian Tax Office. Background self-declarations auto-expire after 12 months and can be withdrawn at any time from your profile — withdrawal immediately removes the row from what employers can see.
